I AM NEVER GOING HOME!!!

March 30, 2013 - All Posts, 2013 Operation: Zinda

Today we heard the morning prayers at each school. It was so fascinating to see that the kids were not distracted and that they were all participating. They were so happy to see us. We performed our dances and our songs for them.  We sang “On Top of the World” at the first school and “The World’s Greatest.” During the World’s Greatest I started to cry. I felt so connected with the kids at that very moment and you could tell that the kid’s hearts were touched. After we performed I knew that this is where I am suppose to be and that I have not only made a difference in the kids lives by being their friend but nurturing them and making them feel special. At my school I have two buddies Pooja and Sonita. Today I told them that they are special and that they have amazing smiles and they brighten up my day. In that moment they looked at me and smiled and gave me a hug. These kids have changed my life for the better and have taught me so much. They have given me hope and brought so much happiness to my life! Regret is in the past, Succeeding and joy is in the present and fear is in the future. I have learned to live in the moment and to carry on and persevere even when things get tough!
