Wait, this isn’t Indiana…

Oh hey there, its your boy coming at you live from India pt.2!! The kids are amazing, the food is heavenly, and the driving is… perfectly safe! It has been so nice being able to live in the moment and to be able to leave a lot of the stresses at home, even if there are still a lot of things that I miss. There are totally still stressors here though! Its just different, instead of the typical stress, I have to worry about kids running away mid lesson, the constant possibility and threat of having big spiders in my room when I get back from the schools, as well as the reality that I unfortunately will not have all of the time in the world for these amazing children, and the safe driving. It feels weird to be back. There are a lot of similarities but really everything is different. The first round changed who I was in a very massive way and I can feel a similar change starting to take hold and I couldn’t be happier. I’m really excited to see my little hoodlums from last years village tomorrow, and I guess we will see if they remember me even though I have chopped off my hair!

At lunch today I was sitting I the shade after I finished eating, and I was just watching the kids play and all that fun stuff when my two girls came and sat on my lap for like at least a half hour. It was precious. They were two of the youngest girls in the class and it made me so happy. I love all of the kids, and I would like to think they all at least like me a little bit at least, but the young ones are the easiest to love, and they give love without hesitation. The girls are in the pictures and their names are Asmani, and Guri and they call me “big brother” in Hindi which is basically the best sound of all time, especially in their little voices. These kids have given me so much more then I could ever hope to give to them and I’m so grateful.

Anyways I hope everything is amazing back home and my life is going well! It has been a really fast week (other then the traveling which was actually brutal in the best way) and it feels like I’ve been here for a few hours, but I could spend a lifetime here, if I could get used to the driving, and the whole no beef thing they have going on here… I love you all and go tell someone that you love them today! Peace.

Oh and I totally got some sun cause I didn’t wear sunscreen (sorry mom) and I am really hoping I’m at least a little bit tan.

  1. Wait, I sent you to India! HaHa. It is so good to see your handsome face and to read your blog. I am glad you are feeling changes similar to the changes from last year. You really did come home a different kid. Dad and I are so proud of you and the experiences you are choosing for yourself. You are so full of love and I am sure everyone who comes in contact with you can feel of your love for them. I knew you wouldn’t wear the sunscreen, you never do (duh!). We love you so much. Tia keeps saying how much she misses you but I’m sure that’ll pass shortly after you arrive home and she’ll be ready for you to leave again, J/K. Keep up the good work. Love you bud! "Stay Sweet"
