Working with the girls has been amazing this week. I really enjoy hanging out with them and teaching. It is really neat to see the progress they have already made with their English. They have really picked up on the language and actually understand the concepts we are trying to teach.

Besides watching them grow in their English, I love watching them do their art projects. They are so creative and individual. One of my favorite activities is watching them make bracelets. Instead of keeping the bracelets for themselves, they give them to YMAD team members and their friends. I think that is so selfless and kind of them.

This experience has been one of the hardest but most rewarding experiences of my life. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to come on this expedition. I’ve made so many deep connections with some of the girls. I love them so much and wish I could take them home with me!
