Haso (Smile)

Today was definitely the hardest. I can’t believe it was already time to say goodbye. I already miss the kids so much and I wish I could take them all home with me. They have lit up my life and have brought me true joy. Through the tears, I couldn’t help but smile at what had taken place this last week.  There is so much to rejoice in. Not only did we help teach these kids English, but we also brought them hope and showed them love. No matter how much people say I made a difference in these children’s lives, the biggest change took place in my own. I have begun to find joy in the simple things and never want to waste a minute that I could be helping someone else. This has been an unforgettable and life changing experience. There will always be a piece of Chamba and Raj Nagar (my school) in my heart. I wish I could stay with my kids these next few days, but I am excited for the next adventure this expedition holds.

I’m not going to lie, I am a little nervous for the night train tomorrow night, but I know it will be unforgettable and a great story to tell. It will be amazing to see Jai Pore and visit the Taj Mahal. I feel incredibly blessed to be here and have these experiences. It has gone by so fast! I’m sad to leave but can’t wait to get home to see my family and friends. The only way I can try to share what I am feeling with you is to ask you to set time aside each day to find something meaningful to do for someone else—selfless service. It is the best healing power and brings the greatest happiness. I love you all and can’t wait to see you!!!
