I’m Too Tired To Blog Right Now! by: Taneh Anderson

June 17, 2019 - 2019: Asha Ki Chamak

I feel like this entire trip I’ve been SOOOO tired, but when I’m with the kids I am always ready for more. Teaching the kids and playing with them really wears me out but I don’t feel it until we are done and leaving from the school and all the kids going back to the hotel. I am just so happy when I am with those kids and see how happy they are, and it makes it even better knowing that I am making, or can make, them even happier. This joy that comes from serving them gives me a knew energy in the moment but when that moment is over I really feel all that running around and I am so ready for bed!

In one of the lessons I taught, I got to teach the kids how to play soccer! I love playing with the kids so much! With the older kids I was able to teach them how to actually play soccer with goals and stuff and we had so much fun! With the younger age group classes I really just dribbled around the area and let them chase each other around with the ball while I kept them from kicking the ball off a cliff or down the stairs. It is so fun watching them having so much fun! Whenever there was a kid sitting off to the side or feeling left out, I’d pick them up and hold them on my shoulders while I ran around playing with all the other little kids.

I really am not a very good writer and I am not very good at telling or expressing my feelings but I love these kids so much and with all my heart. It is going to be really hard to leave them at the end of this trip. Here in India I’ve learned how to truly love everyone that I meet and I will never forget the things I have learn through my YMAD journey.

  1. Awwww! You are getting better at expressing what you are feeling and it is so great to get to read this and hear your voice in it when you are so far away. We miss you so much! Love you tons-❤️Mom

  2. Thank you son for your great example. Love, Dad

  3. It looks like your muscles have been put to good use at the schools and on the trip. You are a thoughtful young man. Remember, sometimes feelings and love are best expressed not by what you say but what you do.

  4. Well said, Taneh. I have to disagree with you that you don’t express your feelings. Your genuine love for the kids, the way you shared it brought tears to my eyes. I’m happy for you to have this life changing experience. Be safe!
