Tons of Tears and Tons of Laughs By Audrey Cummings

April 2, 2019 - 2019 Operation: Sapna

Woah! What a crazy adventure we’re having! The past few days have been a whirlwind. Lots of happy and sad. Tons of tears and tons of laughs, but I would not change it for the world.

The other night we had a gratitude circle where each of us got to share something we’re grateful for. There was not a dry eye in the room. Hearing everyone’s thoughts was so special and meaningful. We’re doing amazing things. Also shout out to our families for the letters, those meant so much and brightened our spirits. This experience has changed me for the the better. I am so grateful for my team and all their hard work and dedication. It has definitely paid off. I’m so thankful for my kids. They’ve taught me more than I’ve taught them.

Six days ago I met 27 kids who were complete strangers with names I could not pronounce. Today I had to say goodbye and it was by far the hardest thing I have ever done. I am so grateful for their perfect love, their kindness, and beautiful smiles. They make me laugh so hard, especially when we play ‘Bubble-Gum’ and they poke my sunburned feet saying “red, white!” I love them with my whole heart and will miss them dearly. I’m now the one saying “one more please.” These kids are amazing and I feel so privileged to know them.

  1. Beautiful message Audrey, we are so very grateful for you!! Glad you decided to make this journey to India and experience this culture, these adorable children and enjoy your team. More excited than ever to hear all about it when you return. Keep soaking it all in – except for those harmful UV rays… so load on the sunscreen. 😊 Haha, I guess it’s a little late if the kids are playing “red, white” on your feet.
    Love you!!
    Dad

Also, a huge thanks to all the leaders and teams for making this such an awesome experience!
