Tornado? — Austin Jenkins

April 6, 2018 - 2018 Operation: Vishvaas

Ever heard of a tornado in the Himalayas… no, well neither have I haha.  Welp there goes my sorry attempt at a joke. Anyways… being in India is great! The past 10 days have been the greatest days of my life. Our driver, Jeet, makes drivers in Utah look like chumps. The man is a beast. Traffic is pretty crazy, but every move he makes on the crazy roads of India is perfectly executed. Bus rides are parties, and there is never a dull moment. My village team and my village (Dansa) are the best. My kids are amazing and they radiate love and joy in everything that they do.  Every second with them is a blessing.

When this trip started, I was worried about things that don’t matter. I was worried about my phone, my car, and other pointless things. Now all that matters to me is my kids. Yesterday, I taught the nature lesson. We painted rocks and paint was literally everywhere. My clothes are covered in paint but I don’t care, because watching the smiles on my kid’s faces was everything. Being in India is amazing and I don’t want to leave. If I could, I would stay here forever.

PS: Mom I’m doing great and loving life! India has my heart and I love it here!
