Hey everyone! I have to start this off on a more negative note- this will be my last blog. Tomorrow we will be teaching at the school for the last time, and then on Wednesday we’re leaving Chamba and driving to Dharmsala. I’m definitely not excited to leave the kids, I know that it will be a super sad day, but I’m hyped to get to see more of India! We leave Dharmsala on Friday night to head to the airport, and then I get to see all of you again!

On Saturday we had a movie night with the YMAD girls and we watched Harry Potter [hey dad what’s up ;)]. Ankita held my hand the entire time and we sat next to the fire, huddled in a blanket.

Yesterday we took the winding road up to Khajjiar, also known as Little Switzerland. We went to a beautiful temple that had a HUGE statue and then we went to a large grass park. We also got our custom-made outfits delivered to us last night! I’m so happy with mine- I’m not going to spoil it for you guys but mine is genuinely so gorgeous. I can’t wait for all of you to see it.

The tailor that made all of the outfits for everyone is so extremely talented. His house, which he shares with his wife and two young kids, consists of a single room that’s about half the size of my bedroom. He has mobility issues, yet works so hard in every way he can to support his family. He took everybody’s measurements and somehow managed to make 30 perfectly tailored outfits in less than one week.

Being here has given me such a heightened appreciation for the hard work that so many people in the world do every day. These people work so tirelessly for every bit of money that they can get. It’s amazing to see such a large group of people putting their all into everything that they do.

Today was our second-to-last day at our schools and I think that the day went really well. I was teaching sports today, so I basically got to play soccer with the kids all day. Today was also our last day with the YMAD girls. We played games, they gave us beautiful henna, and then we had to say goodbye. It absolutely broke my heart to leave Ankita. She gave me a note with a poem that she wrote and a necklace, and we hugged as tightly as we could until I had to leave.

Mom and Dad- YOOOOOO! I miss you guys so much! I got to read my letter from home last night and it was so nice to be able to hear from you and see pictures of you guys and all of the animals. I love both of you so much and I really really appreciate everything that you’ve done for me! You’re both such amazing parents and I truly am so incredibly lucky to have you guys as my family. You’re my best friends and I love you so much. See you on Saturday!

Jonathan- so basically… there are so many monkeys here it’s insane. They’re just mad chillin on roads, roofs, people, everywhere. Anyway- Hey love! How are you? I hope everything is going well. I miss you a TON and I can’t wait to see you on Saturday. If you’re upset, please don’t be! I’ll be back before you know it. I’m so excited to hug you and see your cute face! I love you I love you I love you. See you soon love!

I’m so excited to see everybody at the airport on Saturday night! I love you all so much!

See you Saturday!
