Today was the day we have all been dreading, our last day with the girls. When I found out I was assigned to blog, I got a little frustrated. How do I sum up my entire experience? How can I put into words the emotions I have felt? How do I explain the amount of hard work and dedication that went into our expedition? How do I describe the love I have for each and every girl?

I can’t.

This experience has changed my life forever. I went into it knowing I would help these beautiful girls, but little did I know that they would actually help me in more ways than I can comprehend. These girls have taught me selflessness and humility. They have made me feel special and important. They have shown me love in its purest form. Saying goodbye was one of the hardest things I have ever done. These girls are my best friends, my sisters. As I looked around the room at all the hugs and goodbyes, I was overcome with peace. I knew everything was as it should be. We have given these girls hope, confidence, and have made them feel loved.

I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to be part of the YMAD team. I hope I can bring back everything I have learned and felt from these past two weeks. I will never forget this experience and I will never forget these girls.
