I love these girls. I love India. I love my life. – Lexi

India has been pretty rough to be honest, but I’ve loved every second of it. Yes Amanda and Dad, I finally got injured. We knew it would happen at some point. On Friday after school we brought all of the girls outside and had a huge dance party! It was so much fun! All of my girls can be pretty clingy (let’s be honest, I love that though) and there was four or five of them fighting over who gets to hold my hand when we danced and my wrist got pulled all weird. Doctor Steve wrapped it up and I’m “sucking it up” like he told us all to do this morning. Thank goodness for Jess, washing my hair, helping me open things and basically doing everything for me. When you read this Jess, just know that I love you and appreciate everything you’ve done for me. You truly are the best and I’m so grateful to have you as my best friend so we can take care of each other.
Yesterday we got to take the girls to Nicco Park. It was very interesting, ghetto looking, dying hot, yet absolutely amazing. Those girls were so much fun! I got to take five of them around the park and they loved it so much! This one rollercoaster “The Cyclone” looked harmless. I love rollercoasters. But this one was crazy! I sat by my girl Riya in the back and she had her head on my lap and was bawling her eyes out! Then two more of my girls were right in front of me and I could hear them crying and yelling “Mama! Mama!” I felt so bad that they were all so scared! So then I bought them all ice cream and they were better (: I loved that it was only about three American dollars to buy six people ice cream. Nicco Park was quite the adventure but it was a day I will definitely never forget! (: (even though my wrist definitely paid for it later that night)

We had our cultural exchange finally! It was so amazing to have all the hard work from learning and choreographing those songs pay off! Those girls are such amazing dancers too! Holy cow I was blown away! Towards the end we sang “Glorious” and “One Day” and the second we started singing Glorious I started to cry a little bit, but was fine. Then right when we started singing One Day I looked out into the crowd of these girls I love so much and they were all bawling. I lost it. I couldn’t even sing anymore I was crying so hard. Then after we finished singing the crying continued for over the next hour. Sitting there while six of my girls lay on me and cried was such an amazing, yet painful thing. Knowing that in this past week I’ve gotten these girls to love me enough to cry at the thought of saying goodbye tomorrow, is such a great feeling. This made me realized, I’ve accomplished what I came here to accomplish. This is what I signed up for 11 months ago, and I don’t regret anything. I love these girls so much and tomorrow will be the worst day of my life, but in a good way. I love these girls. I love India. I love my life. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped me get to where I am now. This has been the most spectacular experience, and I will miss those girls everyday for the rest of my life.

See you all in a week,

Xoxo Lexi
