Things in India I will Never Forget- McKaylee Brooks

Yellow teamMarch 24, 2014

Today was the first day we got to visit the village schools and the blind and deaf school. It was a perfect day! We got in the SUV and drove up to our village school it was a long and bumpy ride through the Himalayas. We  arrived at the school and got blank stares from the children. Once we played with them they were hanging on us and calling us by our names. The towns are so hard to take in the condition that they are in from the trash all over the streets. We went to the Blind and Deaf School and it was a unforgettable moment. My team worked with the blind girls. We taught the girls songs and played games with them. They smiled and laughed while at the school it made me think of that you can enjoy life even when you can't see or hear! This girl named Ranjuni at the blind and deaf school she was so cute and was sad that we had to leave. It made me think of how lucky I am to live where I do. The first day in India teaching the children was a success. India is such a interesting place with fruit stands, Tata trucks, barbershop on the side of roads and honking that is used for communication while driving...

I think the rest of her blog did not make it across the ocean... I will get it as soon as I can. Sorry McKaylee's Parents!!! --Eden
