The girls make teaching so fun

I absolutely love this! All the girls catch on so quickly and they are all so smart. They make teaching so fun. I cannot begin to explain how great teaching them is. I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything in the world. I am learning more and more names every day and growing more accustomed to their culture and working around the language barrier. I wish I could do even more to help them even though I know what we are doing is making and enormous difference in their lives. Sarah Kime told us that 25% of the girls are more likely to succeed outside the village because of what we teach them in two weeks. This inspired me to work at 110% effort all day no matter how tired I feel. We went on another village tour today. They showed us how each family makes their incomes. One family made their whole income from peeling nuts to sell in the market in Kolkata. These people are so accepting and loving. They will almost literally give you everything they have even though you have only known them for a few days. It is sad to see how little they have; yet somehow they are all incredibly happy people. This shows that it is truly attitude, not circumstances that determine what kind of person you are. Pictures and words cannot describe my firsthand experience here. Today, I caught myself thinking of ways I could come back to this school and live here to help all these girls get out of poverty. I didn’t even realize I was doing it. (haha) That really just shows how much I care for these girls. I love and miss all of you back home, especially my family, and I can’t wait to see you all when I get home! I am so glad I am here. I really wouldn’t trade this for anything. Namascar! -Josh Palmer
