Our First Day in India....
We have just completed our first official day in India! After sleeping late and having a most delicious breakfast, we were privileged to be officially welcomed to Nishtha with a beautiful "Welcome Ceremony" by many of the village women and and the women of Nishtha. It's been a wonderful day of firsts for many of us: our first taste of Indian food, our first bug bite, and our first Hindu blessing. Parents, you have raised some of the most well-mannered teens. Steve and I were so impressed by their kindness during all of those long flights. As we gathered tonight for our preparation time for tomorrow's teaching, they showed off their ability to improvise as many of our supplies have not yet arrived. You have done a great job and should be proud of them!
Everyone is well here and looking forward to our first day in the schools tomorrow. The teens will begin blogging tomorrow night on a rotating schedule over the next week. They will surely share many of their first impressions with you. Goodnight.
