I KNOW THIS IS OLD, BUT THEY LOST HIS BLOG AND JUST SENT IT TODAY. His picture I stuck with Spencer's blog...you get the idea.
What a first day. Today was our first day in our villages and it was amazing. I am in the village Kochpukur and our school has 44 kids and it is an all girl school. We were able to get through of all of our workshops with no problems and it all was great! To get to our village we took 2 rickshaws, they are like 3 wheeled scooters with a top and no doors, it was a dream come true! I had always wanted to drive in one and we all almost lost our lives more than a few times, but that just adds to the experience. For my workshop we made little bracelets with pipe cleaners and beads and all of the girls came and made extras for all of us and gave them to us. I don’t think that I am ever going to take those bracelets off. It was awesome. Every thing went so well for us and we had no problems. After we had taught in the school for a couple hours we went around and met people in our village and we had two different ceremonies where we got dots on our heads and we got fed crazy food. It was fun. After we talked with all of the villagers we went to another all girls school and taught them. That was really fun and we were able to play a lot of games with them. Today was definitely a great day. And here it is very extremely humid. We are all constantly wet but it is totally worth it because of the difference we are making in these kids lives and the difference that the kids are making in our lives. And mom, my camera got stolen on the way here so pictures are going to be slim.
(P.S. this picture of me and Spencer is when our village school people gave us coconuts to drink and they were really terrible tasting. . . I got the biggest one. . . Oh and here is my shout out to the Sunday school class.)
