I'm in Love, I'm in Love and I don't Care who Knows it! by Claire Murphy
I’m sure you’ve heard that India is amazing. Its the type of place that can’t be captured by a picture. When I first got off the plane I had no idea what to expect, honestly I was really nervous. I was worried about being accepted by the people, being able to thoroughly teach my lessons, and being able to bond with the kids. Being here I’ve learned to just let things go, I don’t worry as much as I used to and boy is it wonderful! In India the plan changes about every 5 minutes and normally I would get so frustrated but for some reason I don’t. Its like there is an element of peace here, I feel like everything will work out how its supposed to, and if it doesn’t then we’ll figure it out. I JUST LOVE IT LIKE CRAZY! Ok let’s talk about my best friends ( the kids) never have I met such loving children before in my entire life. Right when you get there they leap in your arms and hug you. It’s hard for me to understand how we don’t speak the same language but we still understand and love each other completely. I’M IN LOVE I’M IN LOVE AND I DONT CARE WHO KNOWS IT!! The kids are unbelievably smart. They catch on to what ever we are teaching almost instantly, it truly is amazing. Leaving them is going to be the hardest thing I will ever experience. To think that I will never see them again is a thought that makes me want to cry. I don’t know if I will be able to handle that day. Ok I’m going to stop thinking about it! hahaha
I’m sitting on the patio right now and the scenery completely takes my breath away. Everything is green, the houses are painted in bright colors, and the himalayas are gorgeous. Even though poverty is everywhere I haven’t seen a place more complex and beautiful. The sounds of birds, tractors, and constant honking surrounded by unfinished buildings, crowded streets, and roaming cows is something I will never forget. I never want to leave.
My team (the party shakers) is the BEST team in the world!! All of us bring something wonderful to the table. Even though we get frustrated with each other at times I know that each of us would do anything we could for those kids. We work together, make fun of each other, and dance like crazy and it is SO much fun! We are all so different but we all are lovestruck with India.
I am so in love with this country and very much grateful for this experience. I am grateful for my life and all the people in it, and for all the blessings that I feel everyday. I am grateful for all the people that have supported me in this expedition especially my parents. Mom and Dad I love you thank you so much for everything hope your trip has been AMAZING.
I LOVE EVERYTHING AND EVERYBODY AND INDIA AND THE CHILDREN
Love, Claire Bea
