Happy Thanksgiving to my Family and Friends!
We hope you are having a very special holiday! Please know we are thinking of you and we miss you dearly. It is never easy being separated from our loved ones. A few of the teens were able to make a phone call, then Shindia happened and the phones would no longer work! Lynda, Holly and Adam, sorry I was unable to speak with you. Maybe I can call if they get the cell phone issue resolved. The last few days have been a whirlwind! Long days and short nights working in the villages and at the day boarding school. The teens are doing an amazing job teaching the children. It is incredible to witness the bonding and love they have developed for one another over a very short time. I have had an extraordinary experience as well. Going from village to village with the different groups, having the opportunity to do general health assessments on the children. I have also assisted Jane with teaching birthing/newborn resuscitation classes to the village midwives. They are so gracious and appreciative for the education we provide.
To my Family: Lynda, I love you! I am so grateful to have you in my life. Thank you for supporting me in this adventure! This experience is providing me with more than I could have ever dreamed. Thank you for the letter. Your kind words mean the world to me. You are an amazing woman and I am the luckiest person on the planet!
Holly, Thank you for the letter. Your inspiring words really hit me in the heart. Thank you for encouraging me to take on this wonderful opportunity. I know your experience here was amazingly wonderful and life changing.
Alley, Thank you for your letter! You are family and I so much appreciated hearing from you! I know you had an amazing experience here last year.
Holly and Ally: I was able to give the gift you sent for Sadgarika. She is such a sweetheart and she misses you both so much. She cried when I showed her the picture of the two of you. The one I took at the airport on the morning we left for India. To make her feel better, the next day I gave her the gift you sent. She was very appreciative and she was filled with happiness. Jeff took pictures so look for them on the blog!
I will post again when able.
