Greetings from Emily!
Hello from Nishtha!! I just want everyone and especially my family to know how much I love them and how much I’m having fun! I absolutely love it here. At our parent meeting Jane and Jeff said how we can’t really explain how we are feeling, and what kind of experiences we’re having. That statement is beyond true. I wish there was some way that I could tell you all how great of an experience I’m having. Words literally cannot express how much I am loving India!!! We started teaching today, and I absolutely loved it. My village is called Uma Patur. The kids are absolutely adorable and the village tours were amazing. The way these people live are indescribable. They have next to nothing and they are the happiest people I have ever met in my life. They’re willing to give you anything just to see you happy. Yesterday we met the girls of the Main Day Boarding School. We drove up and all the girls stuck their heads out the windows and started waving like crazy. Smiles were plastered on everyone’s faces. We walked in and all the girls ran up to us and started hugging us. My favorite thing is when we ask the girls how they are, and every single one of them say “I am fine.” Even if you say something and they don’t say anything back, you know that they get it, and love you anyways.
Nishtha is where we are staying, and I love it! It’s super green, and the buildings are so cool looking. Actually, I think all of these buildings and little streets look like Adventureland in Disneyland. Expect for you know, a lot dirtier. Anyways, its awesome here, and I would come back in a heartbeat! No doubt about it.
I love you all so much, and I just want my parents to know that I love them, and how grateful I am for them supporting me in this. I love you with all my heart!
