It’s amazing how fast your life can change in such a short period of time. Even though I’ve only been here for about a week, I feel like I’ve been here for months. Nishtha is my new home and I’m never coming back to Utah (sorry mom). It’s really hard for me to write about my experiences and feelings I’m having so I’m going to try my hardest to tell you about it. I love everything about India. Even though there is trash everywhere and the houses are made of clay walls and tin roofs, it is so easy to find beauty in everything. While walking through the villages is amazing to see how little these people have and yet they’re just so happy. They are all so willing to bring you into their homes and give you everything they have. It’s amazing how humble and happy they are and they’re happiness is very contagious. It’s impossible to have a bad day here. The people are absolutely beautiful and their smiles and laughs can brighten everyones day.

I can’t even begin to express to you the love I have for the girls at the Day Boarding School. Those girls have the ability to make anyone smile and feel like a million dollars. Driving up to the school and seeing those girls wave through the windows is one of the greatest feelings ever. Two of my girls are named Soma and they both have such adorable, happy personalities and I love them with all of my heart. I love everything about them, the way they giggle, say my name, do my hair, and make me laugh. I know that they would do anything for me and I’d do the same for them. One time I was on the roof just looking out at the trees and telling my girls how beautiful it is. She then proceeded to go pick me some flowers and leaves from the trees so I can “take the beauty home with me.” They really are the sweetest girls in the world.

These girls have literally changed my life forever and I have a special place in my heart for them. My love for India and my girls grows more and more with each passing day and I never want this feeling to end. India is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Mom and Dad- So I’m the second to last one to blog… sorry about that. I just want you to know that I’m alive and very happy. I was feeling sick yesterday and today but with medicine I am quickly getting back on my feet and I’m feeling great now. I wish you could have the experiences I’m having. I’m sad to say I’m never coming home but you are welcome to come visit me anytime you want hahaha. I love and miss you. Rachel – I miss you too and LOVE YOU!
