My Calling -- Josh Cluff
Heya everybody!! I’m a slacker and didn’t write my blog yesterday when I was supposed to, but that means that I get an extra day to talk about, so go me. When we first left, traveling with everyone was awesome, but I definitely didn’t get enough sleep until we got to the village. I was seriously so out of it until I got a full 10 hours of sleep.
Teaching has been so much fun, but also one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had. It’s so hard to teach when there’s this little punk named Mayank running around. The kid has literally attached himself to me, and he won’t behave for anyone unless he’s sitting on my lap. I seriously think my calling in life is carrying him on my shoulders, because that happened for like an hour yesterday. The kid will run around with scissors, or throw bits of paper around, but the second he’s on my lap he’s calm and it’s seriously one of the most amazing things that’s ever happened. I still can’t get over it, because I’ve gotten used to him being constantly around me.
The boys from my village team are freaking awesome though, they’re seriously becoming some of my best friends. I really don’t know what to talk about in this blog so I’m going to highlight one of the highlights so far. It was when we ended up with the worst time management situation I’ve ever been in, we finished teaching all of our lessons with all of our children and we had like 15 minutes left. We already had all of our game time, and we already went through review with everyone, so because I was the Team Leader for the day, I had to step up. So I grabbed ‘Goldilocks and The Three Bears’ and got to work. I started off by saying “Allllllright!” and all the kids just repeated, and said “Allllllllright!” and I knew we were in business. I would say about 2-3 words at a time, and let the kids repeat me. It was the most fun book-reading experience I’ve ever had. Like ever. It was ridiculously awesome. I plan on doing it every day, because I think about it all the time, and remember how fun it was.
I really don’t know what to talk about so… I’ll see y’all in like a week and a half.
