The lucky ones
On our way here I remember seeing a beautiful Indian family, specifically daughter, at the airport. It was clear they had more money than a typical West Bengal family. I will never forget one of my leaders pointing the girl out saying "that is one of the lucky ones". This really got me thinking. WHY?? Why did she get to be a lucky one? Why did I? The next night another leader said "life is 10% circumstance and 90% attitude. These deep brown-eyed and wide grinned beauties are the perfect example of pure joy. They love with everything they have. They are so strong. I will never forget walking into the village for the first time and being attacked by children with with a million hugs, kisses and "I love yous". They strike back from their trials and rise beyond. They don't let their trials determine them. Maybe they aren't considered a lucky one but they would never let that show. These people are teaching me so much more than I could ever teach them. I hope to bring this joy home and love the way they love. I am so thankful my family and loved ones and I love you guys so much. I promise I'm alive and well. I am learning so much!
