The End Is Near… - Kimberlee Rawlings
I am starting to run out of oatmeal packets to eat in the morning, and that is how I know that the end is near hahaha I have met so many amazing people here, but I also miss my amazing people back home. We have had the whole weekend to kinda just hang out. Yesterday was the cultural exchange at a local girls high school. We sang and danced for them, and they did the same for us. By the end, it was just this huge mosh pit. Girls were grabbing us, fighting to shake our hands, and asking us for “selfie” hahaha it was an experience for sure.
Today we went to Khajjiar, which is about an hour drive away from Chamba. I don’t even know the words to explain Khajjiar. It is basically like this huge grassy field in the middle of a forest. You can go horse back riding, ride in balls down hills, and just hang out. It was super fun. I bartered with the horseback riding guy, and got him from 300 rupees down to 200 rupees wahoo haha you have taught me well Dad. But, the most exciting part of it all, I GOT TO EAT FRENCH FRIES.
The other day I was showing the kids and my translator my photo album at school. I was showing them pictures of my dogs, and then following that I was showing them pictures of my friends. Our translator looked up at me with the most confused look on her face and said, “Two b*****s?” I didn’t know what to do because I thought she was asking me how many “b*****s” (or friends) I had in America hahaha I later figured out that she was asking me if both of my dogs were females, or in other words “b*****s” hahaha so that was pretty funny, and every time I think about it I laugh. But on the note, I miss all of my “b*****s over there in the USA. And I miss Koda and Sage, my legit “b*****s."
Tomorrow we go back to our village schools, and have our last two days with the kids. I haven’t seen them for a couple days, and I am really starting to miss them. So I am a little nervous to leave them when I leave to go home. On Wednesday we leave Chamba, and head for Dharamsala. After that, we will soon be on our way home. I can’t wait to see you family. Today we got our letters from home, and I was a big mess. Dad, just so you know I can’t wait to go to Texas Rhodehouse with you as soon as I get home. We better call ahead so we are sure they can get us in hahaha and thanks for all the quotes Mom you always know what I need the most. I miss you guys so much. Be prepared to take such good care of me when I get home ;) I can’t wait to give you both a big hug.
I miss you so much, Terry. Just a few more days, and I will be seeing you very soon. I bet you have been having so much fun while I have been gone, you maybe even forgot about me. But I sure haven’t forgotten about you, and I am looking forward to coming home and sharing my pictures, videos, and experiences with you and my family. I am really looking forward to being home with the people I love the most. India has really shown me how much I have, and all the amazing people I get to have relationships with. I will be home before we even know it. I love you all so much. <3 xoxox
