Today was pretty awesome. Definitely better than day one. In the village school we only had about 60 kids to divide between the five of us instead of 150. I felt a lot more confident as the day went on. I knew what I was walking into this time and so it wasn’t nearly as awkward. We had a lot of fun playing games with the kids and taking pictures with them. They LOVE taking pictures. I think we took pictures for like 20 minutes at the village after we were done teaching because they wanted so many. My team also went on village tours for the first time today, which was really awesome cause you get to interact with the people and see some of the parents of the kids you’re teaching. Shoutout to my awesome mom for giving a scrapbook of pictures and notes from home. That really helped with the wave of homesickness I got yesterday. I finally realized that culture shock is a real thing because it hit me really hard yesterday. I’m over it now but to do so I had to realize that India should become my home for the next 2 weeks. I’m already in love with both the girls at the boarding school and in the village and I’m really sad that we have to leave them on Monday, but I’m determined to do my best to give them an amazing experience and hopefully make a difference in their life. Overall, it’s been exhausting, exhilarating, and really REALLY hard but above all FUN.
