Shindia – Emmy Snedaker

December 2, 2018 - 2018 Operation: Azadi

For those wondering about this title, please feel free to ask me about it in the airport:)))) I probably shouldn’t post such things on the internet.

Yesterday at school I taught action words. It had its ups and downs. I thought it would go really well because all the kids at my school are very active and have a hard time sitting still. Also their new shoes arrived so they could not wait to get them at the end of school. While I was teaching my last group, I really exercised lots of patience and developed a new respect for my teachers. Kartik and Kartik were both cheating in the game, lifting up other kids, throwing rocks, and dismissing me the entire lesson. While those two were being so so naughty the rest of the group was participating and behaving themselves which made me very happy. But oh boy those little children were stinkers. Next time I’m teaching I need to make a plan that keep the whole class entertained and in a safe environment. But I absolutely love being with them everyday. Their little (sometimes toothless) smirks keep me going.

I’m convinced showers are straight up a gift from god. You know how there’s that saying,”wash the day off”? Now I truly understand. But in my case it’s the past two days:)

Also, holy nuts. These kids have very thick skin. In all my days teaching I’ve only seen one kid cry and it was because a rock ricocheted off a garbage can and hit his head. When a kid isn’t happy, they smack whoever made them mad. Then they smack them back. Then they usually do it one more time each way, then stop. Kind of like that, “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” thing. I kinda like it, but they still shouldn’t hit each other.
