Cultural Exchange Day- Todd Adams

November 27, 2016 - 2016 Operation: Saktisali

This is the day that my dance and music team have been working on for the last 10 months.  Thanks Talmage, Sophie, Isaac and Grace.  I also have to mention Chloe and Ricky.  They were not able to come with us but still we had you two in our hearts at the celebration and while in India.  There was so much dancing and it was so hot and humid so the marble floor in the Temple where the celebration took place was wet.  Our teens and the children here in India know how to dance until they cannot dance any longer and then dance again.

I have so often thought about my family.  Thank you to Kellene, McKenna, Justin, Dalton, and MaLee for supporting me not only for the two weeks I am gone but for the many Sunday evenings that have been spent away from home.  I so wish you were here with me to look into the eyes of the children and young adults and feel of there love.  It has been good not to have mirrors here in India.  In my life as I have looked into a mirror I often have not liked what I have seen.  Now to look into the sparklingeyes of the India people and see my own reflection shinning back in their smiles and happiness has been so reaffirmingto me as a person.

Quoting part of a note that I wrote to my team: Jane, Ben, Ashlyn, Nathan, Michaela:

I am so Proud of you and the dedication to the time that you spend teaching the children here.  The awesome respect that they have all shown when visiting these humbling homes on our village visits.  We are so blessed and I believe that you have seen and felt this.  I see an awesome love and respect that you have for the people of this area.  Continue to be grateful for what you have.  Because of what you have you are able to share that with others.  You are leaders to these children and leaders of your peers.

I love the people of West Bengal – their happiness through the trials that they are not even aware of.  It is amazing how little can bring so much happiness.

Love Todd
